At B.A.S.E. Childcare Center, our mission is to provide a nurturing and educational environment. We are dedicated to supporting the growth and development of children in the Bethel School District.
The Spanaway Lutheran Church BASE Program was established by the congregation to reach out and serve the children and families of our community in the name of Christ
The program provides the best care possible in a positive, safe, and Christian environment.
Respecting the uniqueness of each child, the program offers enrichment for mind, body, and spirit.
The program is conducted by trained Child Care Professionals, who are loving and caring.

Retired educators have been assisting with homework for over 8 years in our BASE Center. Here at BASE we make homework fun and we offer wonderful incentives to aim high!
Beading, Ornaments, Bird Feeders, Origami, Painting, Pet Rocks, Rock Garden and much more...
Learning new recipes, meal planning, shopping lists, shopping, preparing veggies and fruits from our own garden...
Age appropriate indoor and outdoor games, Four-Corner, Mission Impossible, basketball, soccer, kickball, etc...
Throughout the school year the children get to visit many cool places to expand their horizon, for example the zoo, movies, local parks, swimming pool, museum, library, beach, ferry boat ride, Fort Nisqually and much more...
Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Flower Fundraiser, Trick or Trunk, Pumpkin Patch, Christmas Program and more...
Several times a year our BASE Center kids get to participate in a "Lock-In" from 6pm to 10pm, usually during the holidays. They will participate in many fun holiday themed activities during that time, including caroling for example...
Teacher led theme center activities, for example Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, growing our own garden...
The children from our center will put on a Christmas Program with the preschool kids and church kids. This definitely is an event you wouldn't want to miss!
We provide an all-day engaging, themed, enrichment program that focuses on a blend of fun hands-on learning, off-site experiences, physical activities, and social development during the summer break. Our goal is to foster curiosity and personal growth through dynamic experiences designed to inspire young minds. Each day is structured to balance educational and social experiences with ample opportunities for creative expression and collaborative play.

Structured and unstructured outdoor play is important for promoting physical health, motor skills, and a connection to nature. We have climbing structures, a basketball court, a sandbox, hula hoops, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and gazebos with tables for art, games, or just hanging out. These are just a few choices of activities offered in out outdoor environment.
We offer opportunities for children to get their hand dirty in our garden boxes. We have designated planter boxes in the SLC Community Garden, where the children learn to plant, grow, and harvest vegetables.
